Ahh, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They show up once a year or so, overflowing with pamphlets, literature and shining white teeth, bringing their unique interpretation of the Bible to anyone who listens, or at least anyone who answers the door. One might think that the Jewish state wouldn't be a natural environment for Mormons, but they'd be wrong – and perhaps it's fitting that the Mormons have established a presence here, given their belief that they are, in fact, Israelites, and that the native population of America was as well.

Latter-day Saints can be found at the Brigham Young University Jerusalem Center, housed in a prominent multi-tiered building, all glass and arches, on Mount Scopus. In order to construct the building, the church had to promise not to proselytize to Israel's residents.

In addition to featuring a full program of study for Mormon students in Middle Eastern religion, history and language, Brigham Young University is home to a large concert hall. Sunday nights feature shows by a selection of well-known Israeli musicians, tending towards the classical side.
