The ancient world, from the dawn of civilization to the Early Christian Era, comes alive at Jerusalem's Bible Lands Museum. Here, visitors can explore the treasures of the past and learn about the daily lives and religious rituals of our ancestors, on a journey through time in the museum galleries.

The treasures on display at the museum represent the physical evidence of civilizations and events described in the Bible. Traditions, rituals, faiths, and cultures are revealed through ancient ivories, mosaics, jewelry, seals, terra cotta and stone sculptures, as the magnificent cultures of ancient Egypt, Sumer, Assyria and Babylon engage visitors.

The Bible Land Museum Jerusalem was founded in 1992 by Dr. Elie Borowski and his wife Batya, with the goal of promoting an appreciation for and an understanding of the history of the region and our Biblical heritage.

An active venue with a variety of dynamic offerings, the museum maintains a full schedule of world-class temporary exhibitions, excursions and additional cultural events. Its weekly Saturday Night Music, Wine and Cheese concert series offers an all-you-can consume refreshment bar followed by performances contemporary Israeli and ethnic ensembles. On Wednesday evenings, the museum offers lectures, films and specialized gallery tours. innovative educational programs for youth and adults, creative programs for holidays and additional events also periodically take place, so check our event listings for details.

Admission: Adults - 32 NIS, Senior Citizen - 16 NIS, Senior Citizens - 28 NIS, Student/Soldier/Disabled/New Immigrants - 20 NIS, Child (5-18) - 20 NIS.

Guided tours of the museum in English are offered daily at 10:30 and on Wednesdays at 17:30. Guided tours of the museum in Hebrew are offered daily at 11:00 and on Wednesdays at 18:00. Private tours, tours in additional languages and tours for groups can also be arranged via advance reservation.
